Traditional Chinese Folk Remedies refer to medical practices that have been passed down through generations, known for their precise and rapid therapeutic effects. At NOURISH-TECH Chinese Medical Centre, we have integrated Southeast Asian folk medicine into our treatments, utilizing over 50 years of clinical experience. Our therapies include Dr.Ngiam’s Dan Bai Acupuncture, Ancestral Pediatric Flying Acupuncture, Ancestral Acupuncture for Acute and Chronic Appendicitis, Folk Snake with Traditional Herpes Zoster Theraphy, Burning Acupuncture, Folk Moxibustion with Wheat Grains, and Fomentation Theraphy with Herb.

Dr.Ngiam’s Dan Bai Acupuncture: Founded by Dr. Ngiam Tee Him in 1978, this method uses a pendulum to locate acupuncture points, differing from traditional meridian-based techniques. It combines human and environmental energy to stimulate magnetic and electronic flow within the body, aiding in treatment and cancer prevention. The technique emphasizes immune system regulation through specific acupoint stimulation, restoring energy balance and enhancing immunity.

Ancestral Pediatric Flying Acupuncture : This non-invasive acupuncture method is used on infants and children, targeting the abdomen, limbs, and back through ancestral knowledge. It is particularly effective for acute pediatric conditions such as convulsions, night crying, indigestion, and persistent high fevers, using quick, surface-level stimulation.

Ancestral Acupuncture for Acute and Chronic Appendicitis: This therapy, employed only in emergency situations where surgery is unavailable, involves long acupuncture sessions (7–10 hours or more) and requires signed consent from the patient's family. The treatment is no longer provided at our center.

Folk Snake with Traditional Herpes Zoster Theraphy: Our method uses ignited wick grass to identify the direction of the "snake" (herpes zoster) on the skin, resulting in a loud "crack" sound upon contact. This therapy provides immediate pain relief and visible results, such as the drying and shrinking of blisters. For severe cases, multiple treatments and additional internal medications are required to reduce the course of the disease.

Burning Acupuncture: The fire needle therapy has a history of at least 2,700 years and is mainly used to treat skin conditions such as herpes, dandruff, skin ulcers, necrosis, psoriasis, eczema, and other difficult-to-treat ailments, including cancer-related pain. At NOURISH-TECH Chinese Medical Centre, we use specially designed needles heated to high temperatures for subcutaneous, superficial, and deep-level treatments. For cancer patients, the fire needle offers significant pain relief, with some patients experiencing several hours of relief. It is also effective in removing moles, facial acne, subcutaneous polyps, pimples, cystic acne, and blackheads.

Folk Moxibustion with Wheat Grains: This therapy uses moxa (mugwort wool) combined with Ashi points (trigger points) and traditional acupuncture points. The treatment involves directly applying moxa to the skin for three to five cycles, targeting stubborn joint pain, rheumatism, paralysis, joint deformities, infertility, and other difficult conditions.

Fomentation Theraphy with Herb : This is an ancestral method used to treat local swelling, bruising, and muscle soreness caused by sprains and injuries. It involves applying the herbal bone-setting plant and medicinal alcohol, followed by hot compresses on the affected area to reduce swelling, inflammation, and pain.
